Prayer Request Sites for Christians

by Missi Maynard

Praying for one another, known as "intercession," is expressly commanded in the Bible. Prayer can be helpful not only as a mortal sounding board, but also as a way of showing agreement in your requests to God. As it says in the book of James: "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." Prayer request sites are a great way to allow hundreds, thousands and sometimes millions of others to join in your prayer.

The Upper Room

The Upper Room is a "Living Prayer Center" website that is staffed by Christian volunteers and is dedicated to prayer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can click on the green "Request Prayer" button on the right side of the website and fill out the form that appears or you can call 1-800-251-2468 (7am-11pm CST) to speak live with a volunteer.

ChristianPrayers

ChristianPrayers is a message board that allows a community of Christian believers to post their prayer requests, fellowship and answered prayers. Only members can request prayer on this website, but membership is free and open to all. Once logged in, you can go to the prayer board and click "New Topic" and post your prayer request.

Crosswalk

Crosswalk is a popular Christian website that deals with all elements of the Christian walk, from Bible study to prayer to current culture. Prayer requests are private at Crosswalk and once you submit your prayer request on the left side of the website, either a staff member or volunteer will pray for the request.

24 Hour Prayer

24 Hour Prayer is a straightforward website dedicated to prayer requests. This is also a message board and requires all members to register before posting prayer requests. Once registered, members can click on the blue "Prayer Request" button to share their prayers with the community.
