Whether you prefer to go all out, or keep the leopard-print accents subtle, a leopard-print wedding is an exotic statement in wedding decor. Add a tone-on-tone leopard-print design to the front of your invitations and tell your friends to dress in their best leopard-print cocktail dresses, matching shoes and handbags.

Subtle or Over the Top

Leopard prints come in a wide variety of patterns and colors. When combining the print with other colors, you can go over the top and fill the room with gold, brown, black and cream that matches a traditional leopard print. Alternatively, select a soft lavender or pink leopard print to accent your wedding colors of purple, lavender or pink. A black and white leopard-print pattern may be combined with flaming red, fuchsia or teal -- your favorite colors -- or simple silver, gold or copper accents.

The Wedding Party

While most brides prefer a traditional white, off-white or cream dress, don't limit yourself if your favorite color is red. Dress the bridesmaids in leopard-print dresses with red accents and shoes. The groomsmen might wear red suits with leopard-print ties, belts and shoes, or black suits with red shirts and leopard accents. Wrap a length of leopard-print fabric around the bouquets and the boutonnieres. Alternately, go subtle with a pale pink leopard print, dressing the bridesmaids in soft pink with pink leopard-print shoes, hats and scarves. Add matching pink dress shirts and leopard-print ties to the groomsmen's black suits.

The Decor

Order a bolt or two of your favorite leopard-print fabric from the fabric store so you can dress the reception tables with leopard-print runners or table covers layered over white, cream or black tablecloths. For the centerpieces, fill copper pitchers or tall vases with exotic flowers, such as birds of paradise, gardenias and orchids, and topped with a leopard-print bow. Party favors might include leopard-print boxes filled with candies, or homemade jams or local honey in fruit jars topped with a leopard-print bow. Add large potted palms around the perimeter of the reception hall to add to the tropical ambiance.

The Wedding Cake and Buffet

Provide a piece of the leopard fabric to the wedding cake designer as a pattern for a leopard-print pattern on one or more layers of the cake. The remaining layers might remain cream-colored or pick up another color in the print, such as a golden brown or pink. A custom cake topper, with the figures painted in the colors of the bride and groom, complete the cake. Add a leopard-print runner to the cake and buffet tables to tie them to the reception hall decor. Arrange rustic grapevine baskets lined with leopard-print fabric for breads and fresh fruits, amid the chafing dishes and simple serving bowls for the salad, condiments and butter.
