Chakras are the 7 main energy centers or vortexes in our bodies. They process the spiritual energy that becomes our auras. Each chakra is represented by a different color. The spiritual energy enters each chakra from behind the spine and exits in front of the body. Use these steps in a meditation to cleanse your chakras.
Close your eyes and focus on your breathing for several minutes. Concentrate on the air passing into and filling your lungs and passing back out again. Breathe deeply, completely filling and emptying your chest cavity.
Visualize a white light from above streaming down and through your body, cleansing it of all negativity. The negativity moves down into the earth.
Imagine a red vortex of energy at the base of your spine spinning slowly clockwise. This is your root chakra which connects you to the earth. Watch it spin slowly as all impurities are cleansed.
Picture an orange vortex of energy just below your belly button. This chakra governs sexuality. Watch it spinning slowly clockwise as it is cleansed.
Envision a yellow vortex of energy just below your rib cage. This chakra governs will. Watch it spin slowly as it is cleansed.
Perceive your green chakra of emotion located in the center of your chest. Watch it spin clockwise and cleanse. See your sky blue chakra governing expression in the hollow of your throat. Watch it spin clockwise and cleanse.
Discern your indigo chakra, or third eye, used for psychic sensing between your eyebrows. Watch it spin and cleanse. Spin your crown chakra at the top of your head clockwise with white energy. It connects you to your higher source.
- After cleansing each chakra, picture each of them spinning and closing slightly. This prevents your energy field from being too open or sensitive. Once again picture a white light from above flowing down through your entire energy field and grounding you to the earth.
