Cancelling your Costco membership requires a trip to the store.

Costco is a membership warehouse club -- a store that sells merchandise in bulk and at deep discounts, but at the cost of purchasing a membership. When you purchase a membership to Costco, it comes with a satisfaction guarantee, meaning that if at any time you decide that you are unsatisfied with your membership, you can relinquish it for a full refund. Doing so requires a trip to the store, but gives you the peace of mind that you did not waste your money on something you do not use or enjoy.

Visit your local Costco store.

Go to the membership services desk -- this is likely the same place where you purchased your membership.

Present your membership card and photo ID. Explain to the customer service representative that you are dissatisfied with your membership and, in accordance with company policy, would like a refund for your membership fee.

Items you will need

  • Costco membership card
  • Photo ID
